On June 3, we experienced a new moon in the sign of Gemini. This new moon happened at the Midheaven, Medium Coeli, of Istanbul.
Tides matter in Astrology. Dawn, when the day is born, midday and sunset, when the day ends and the middle of the night, when the Sun is in the very depths of darkness, are the four corners of a chart, and time. Today, the Moon and Sun joined each other at the exact noontide in Istanbul. In the sign of Gemini which is about flying, freedom, scientific thinking, logic and analytic thinking, the Mind.
New Moons happen when the Sun and Moon join each other in the heavens. Yet Time is in everflow. Neither Moon or the Sun stay where they are. Even they find each other and unite for a moment, they are bound to seperate for they are always in motion. The Moon moves faster than the Sun and she seperates and is born anew after every union. So we have a new cycle, the new month begins with fresh, new energy. Women know cycles and the secrets of the Moon.
Gemini is where the mental activity takes place. Speech, dialogues, communication, thinking, analytical thinking, science, writing and reading find their expression in the realm of the Twins. As the new moon begins in Gemini, we are expecting an intellectual innovation. A new idea, a new book, a new course…
We will be intelectually active in the following two weeks. Our minds may be sharper, we may be more curious than usual. Curiosity is a Geminin virtue. It is a good time to read, to study and be curious. We are flowing through a good time for self expression. We, humans, are worth expressing ourselves freely, speaking our mind is a natural right.
As the Moon seperates from the Sun, she will make her first contact with Jupiter, the star (well, planet) of great ideas, big theories, philoshopy, doctrines and faith. Jupiter is certainly enjoying his wide and wise throne in the realm of Sagittarius. It looks as if he is also waiting for the Moon and Mercury to channel his divine message to us.
This is a very positive new moon. The two benefics of the Heavens, Venus and Jupiter are both in their own signs. Both Venus and Jupiter are able to bless us with their beauty, abundance and grace. There is nothing that hinders their power.
The material world we live in is an illusion for nothing stays the same, everything changes. This month, change will be with us. You can experiement this yourself, write down your ideas to your journal and check at the end of the month if anything has changed. You may be surprised. It is a great time to write, think and do mental work. In a few days Mercury will move into Cancer and we will be able to work on our emotions and mind, together. This will be a golden opportunity for those who seek to know themselves and grow their awareness around emotional responses and family/childhood conditioning.
World is crumbling into pieces. Our civilisation is coming to an end. Around the world, economies are shaking, many companies are closing or shrinking… it looks as if everything has gone down the Hell. It did. Thus ends an age of pain, slavery and chaos, the Age of Pisces. We are at the dawn of Age of Aquarius. Imagine yourself standing in the darkness just before dawn, the hour of the wolf. The hour when everything is darkest, coldest… Darkest hour precedes the glory of dawn. We are going through the Vargatiden. Yet, Jupiter wants us to keep the faith. As Saturn and Pluton keep demolishing all that does not serve us, we are only expected to trust and keep a light in the dark. Trust the process, the great ones know what they are doing.
Today’s new moon opens us a fresh window to leave the darkness behind and fly with the winds. Gemini is an Air Sign. We can take the next step, we can spread our wings to a new future. Perhaps the purpose of life is hidden in transcending our boundaries and trying that which seems impossible ?
Men and women make their own wings. For we have the faculty of Mind. Our hands have been making tools for millenia. With our own wings that we made with observations, study, calculations and our own labour, can we take our flight from Galata Tower down to the other side of the Bosphorus. As an Ottoman young man, Hezarfen Ahmed Çelebi made it once in the 1600’s.
